I didnt have the stock tires. I had a set of Kuhmo All Seasons. I unfortunatly got stuck quite a few times around my work, where it just snowed on top of Ice.. Hate being Essential Personal..

I have 2 girls 17 and nearly 16. The 15 year old is 6' tall. We have a Toyota Hilux dual cab and the 8. They don't complain about a 1/2 hour trip in the 8. In fact the front passenger seat is the worst place to sit when there is a rear passenger.
Sure a 30 min trip is one thing.. Would you take your 15 Yr Old for a Road trip of long distances? I grew up being tall. 6'5 now. Crowded car rides are the worst.. Not being able to stretch out.. Plus, I wouldnt dare let someone sit so close to the dash to fit a 6' kid in the back.. Im not that trust worthy.. Not me..

Just saying, why not get something with more leg room for the future & something that does better on gas with 2nd kid coming.. Thats all..

your audi is not only FIed its awd drive.. of coarse its gonna kick..

TT doesn't stand for Twin Turbo as it only has one.

My wife used to have a TT and it was a sweet ride. Tight handling, plenty of pull, and a cool german accented exhaust sound. We had a catback, intake, ECU chip with increased boost and some sticky tires. All of that made for a fast little car.

The space thing is the only thing I hated about the car. The rear seat was good for groceries and legless passengers only.

Regardless, we're getting another one once her Jeep is paid off.

Another owner here with two teen aged girls. No problems getting four into the car as long as the trips are under an hour.
I've had three adults(including me) in my car, with luggage, for a 500km trip four times. It's a good road trip car.

edit: Except for the heat and the mileage

I was able to squeeze 3 other 20+ yr buddies of mine in my car for a 10 hour trip from Florida...haha, they said they were comfortable, but I doubt most people would be. The back seats are tight, but it's also sort of like a comfortable cocoon that should satisfy for short trips. Echoing everyone else's comments, you cannot really compare these two cars as they are very distinct and different.

i used to own a 03 GTI 1.8t. i put CAI, DV, turbo back exhaust, Pzero tire, and koni coliover on it at the time.
things i love about that car is the torgue, it make u feel like u are faster then anythings on the road,
things i hate about that car is the handling, that car basicly cant turn at all, well not that bad, it just understeeling all the time...

i test drive a 07 rx8 a few weeks ago, i feel disappointed about the torgue too,

by compairing the low rpm torgue of the 1.8t with the rx8, 1.8t just making too much

torgue :p, but remember the "power go away feeling" when ur 1.8t rev-ing @ 5k

rpm+ ? it just like a nightmare, no matter how hard u step on it it just wont move....

in the other hand, 5k+rpm is where the rx8 engine torgue kick in (i think...), it just go as

smooth as butter all the way up to the "beeeeeeeep" sound :p..

so yea over all i think those engine just different type of things .. low end power and high

end power..

well good things about the 8 is , it turn and it stop and the beeeeeppp :p

This is the new Auti TT, looks like they made some big improvements...

great comparison of the cars, I have dragged and raced TTs in canyons, and not one has beat me ever. When modded there might be a differant story, but I have a stock rx8, and when I asked the TT drivers they said they were stock, also they were all 2002, and one 07 model. If you have the money to buy a TT and u put that money into the RX8 you will beat numerous cars on the track, if you want a drag car go buy something else.

Seriously? I have owned my 2001 TT for 4 years now and I thought it felt much faster than the RX8. The stock timings for TT's vs RX8's are also better. Perhaps you're just a better driver than whoever was driving the TT's?

Don't take this wrong. I like both the RX8 and the TT. I've pretty much decided to get an RX8 due to the size of the back seat, but I love my TT and hate to sell it.

watch those vids... or go to youtube, and search for top gear episodes. The TT I am sure feels faster, because it has more torque. The rx8 has a much more liner accel. Either way, I am glad to hear you are going to join the owners club!

Now the hard part is which to get. I currently have 2 choices. They are both pretty much exactly the same except one is a new 2007 model for 30k and the other is a 2004 for 19k which has 30k miles on it.

I'm really tempted to get the used one and spend the extra cash on mods..

They will both have their own cars within a year and we have 2 now anyway.

I know people who buy small cars as a second car. I much prefer an 8.
