I think what these guys are trying to tell u is that you should search the board to find everything that has been talked about many many time.....but basically i'm a nice guy and will give u some tips

Don't shut off while cold due to possibility of flooding
check Oil every other fill up
A redline a day keeps the carbon away
premix is good for it(i just started and love how smooth it idles and drives)
91 octane or higher is recommended but other use 87 I use 93 and premix only!!
Make sure all recalls and tsb's have been done on the car if buying one of the earlier models!!!

Also, welcome to the addiction

22'' chromes, cut springs, and an ebay chip are the first things Id recommend.

ALso, make sure to always shut your car off promptly when its cold.

I had to Im sorry. I think 04rx8man covered the main stuff.

DO: read the stickies and FAQs.
DO: read zoom's winter thread (https://www.rx8club.com/series-i-tech-garage-22/fall-here-winter-coming-things-remember-about-your-rx-8-a-129198/)

DON'T: start a thread without having checked the stickies and doing a search on the topic.

do: listen to Zoom44, he speaks the truth
do: take care of your car and she will take care of you

DO NOT: (I'll let the pictures do the talking...)

custom paint jobs might be cool in your head but not on an 8

wheels and this many speakers....

If you can't get chicks without this car, putting THIS on it will NOT help you....

Last but not least: this is NOT a Honda. Never has been, NEVER will be...

on a serious note:

DO: preventative maintenance is your friend!! Know your owner's manual inside and out, look at the scheduled maintenance and don't be afraid to do some of it yourself.
coils, plugs, and wires do not last as long on a rotary as some of the cars you might have driven in the past. If you bought the car used, I'd look into changing theese out

- OEM spark plugs are about $80 - $100 a set but seem to work the best.

- do check the oil levels frequently; the Reni gets thirsty.

Do Not: ignore the "do" list and you'll be set.
