Depends are you boosted or N/A we dont make much power above 9k rpm, but im sure you can take it to 10k without any problem. I dont quite understand what your trying to ask as far as potential..

In my opinion, the full potential of the actual Wankel engine will be reached when technology allows us to get back to the original (DKM) style Wankel.
No vibration, no matter the revs, because you dont have that huge cast rotor flailing about, it just rotates.....
Single rotor motors actually become preferable, because you no longer need counter balance.
The main problem is ignition, as you see the spark plugs would be deep within the outer housing, and rotating.
Perhaps the new laser based ignitions which never need changing will allow further development.
The ingenuity of the Mazda engineers only becomes fully apparent when you find out that the DKM was the model that Felix handed over, and Mazda developed the KKM we know today, from that.
