RX8s, parents, and practicality

The back seat if awesome for my 2 kids! (not so great for 'stuff' as the center console makes it tricky to fit long items in).
I find the trunk to be a decent size; it's the opening that sucks (any square items are difficult to fit).
*Overall, though, the rear doors and back seat make this a VERY practical sports car.

Imagining my trunk without the spare tire, I can see how it actually is a decent sized trunk for a sports coupe. However, throw that tire in there, and you find out just how much room that thing takes away. It also blocks several inches of an already narrow width trunk, so if you need the space, then definitely go without spare tire kit.

This will help you out:
I took my car to college .. 370 miles from home ..
I took my car back from college on last day (WITH ALL MY STUFF!) .. sure i had to cram some if it .. but it provided enough space for me / mom / stuff ..
The back seat has fit my friends who are 6'0 w/comfort .. alot of the complain then they sit in it : hmm thats not bad!

Trunk is more than adequate. And it will seat 4 comfortably enough. First thing I did in my testdrive was to get the driver seat into an acceptable position and then see if I could get in the left rear passgner position. To my surprise I fit comfortably, and I was about 275 lbs. So, I'd say this car will seat most groups of 4 adults. I have had people over 6 foot, no problem. Do remember that the sunroof will deduct an inch and a half of headroom. I have the sport package (no sunroof).
Now, being comfortable has many aspects. The one thing to consider is that even though you can fit in the back, it is a bit claustrophobic. There isn't a good view out to the horizon and this can make people get carsick on a longer drive. Plus, there isn't a lot of room to change position; you fit by virtue of slipping your feet under the front seat. So these things conspire to limit "comfortable" range to about an hour to an hour and a half for adults in the back seat, in my experience.
If you're trying to project the "sensible" image to your folks, try a Nordic Green with the black and tan interior. Kind of has that "professor" look. NG owners, don't flame me! I mean it in a good way.
