It all depends on if you're looking for high contrast or seamless integration. Both good, just a personal pref thing.

I like the colored strakes, but the chrome vent is a little too bright for me. Time for clear corners!!

I got the silver painted strakes to go with my VR about half a year ago. They look nice, but then once I started going to meets, the 8s with the metal strakes looked twice as good. Also, my upper strakes wouldn't align right, I had to experiment with different screws and screwheads to make it look more aligned. Also, I've noticed the paint on them is starting to wear away, and there's some chips too. I wish I invested in Howard's strakes instead, even if they are a little more expensive.
I bought a set of whitewater pearls recently. they are good, but do NOT allow any painted surface to touch the adhesive they use to anchor the strakes vertically for shipment. The paint plucked straight off when I pulled it off. Good thing I was able to swap sides and ensured that the missing paint faced the ground. Overall, good for the money - but use a different way to stand them vertically. I would have been happy with just some bubblewrap!

I have the Silver Alloy strakes on my BB from rx8strakes and I was very satisfied at first but now the paint is starting to flake off a couple of them. I got them in April.

I never used the adhesive. Was too scared. Good thing I didn't.

Mine are as well. It's easier to tell in person:

^ I emailed him and he is going to refinish them for free. So im just out the shipping for getting the strakes to him and the time. Hopefully they dont do it again. I think I just needed to wax them better but its difficult when they are on the car.

I emailed and asked the company what they would do if the finish started to go--and they said they would refinish for free.

I don't know if they're still worth it to me, the top ones never really fit on right anyway. Notice how they're not stuck in place firmly. Aluminum or stainless steel strakes look way better, the only problem with them is they're not worth my $150+, so I'm looking hard for a used bunch.

I spent $250 for the strakes from my dealer and another $150 to have them installed since I hadn't found this forum yet. Yaaayyyy! I love getting ripped off! But, they do look daggum good if I do say so myself.

I actually bought my rear accent off of ebay from them a couple of weeks ago. Shipping was FAST....I purchased on Sunday and received on Wednesday (across country, too. They are located in CA and I'm in CT).

Highly recommend! Seem like good people.

I'm actually definitely going to purchase my fender strakes for them when I decide to go with them (if I decide to purchase them...the car looks great right now without them. I don't want to rice the look up at all).

Thumbs up

These are the aluminium type from Howard, for those who have not seen them. Been fitted for 8 months and are fantastic!

(New pic. with painted calipers )

They're stainless steel - never any problem w/finish. Unless you want the color matched get the stainless. They actually end up costing less than the Mazda stores charge for the aluminum strakes; and damn do they shine.

I got my strakes from these guys last week. Quick shipping and packaging was excellent. My only complaint would be they didn't have the self adhesive pre-cut to fit the strakes.

Other than that, very nice product. Instructions were super clear and they even include a little screwdriver.

I bought my color-matched strakes for my 05 Shinka from RX8Strakes. They look great. If you want color matched then these guys offer a great deal.

I bought the front and rear rotary accentd from them as well. It's painted plastic, but it works fine for me.
