sad day; no more RX8
Hi Guys
my RX8 is finally gone.
2 months ago my engine was changed by the agents, i had done only a 1000kms with it and got left hanging on the side of the road. my car then spent a further 1 month in agents workshop due an ' electrical problem' or thats what they tell me. it pains me to part with my beautiful 8, but the time finally came. i could no longer pay for a car that spends most of the time under repairs or the gas station. Today my car was just sold. its been a wonderful expierence being a part of this amazing club. thank you all. time to move on to the STI's

bye!
been meaning to post this anyways, so this thread is just as good as any. First off, not really a fan of the STi to begin with. Hate that park bench on the trunk. BUT! I saw an STi without the spoiler at all... and it looked so much worse lol. The only solution I've seen is putting the wrx spoiler on it... even then, I'm still not a fan.. but it is better.
Oh, and what is it with them thinking that AWD is the best option for a car, no matter what the situation and that it has no downside worth mentioning. I know that's kind of stereotypical but whenever you mention anything about other cars, they bring up how it's better for the mere fact that it has AWD...

I agree, their trannies suck, but I have had my 8 tranny replaced so I can't say much.
Sorry for the loss, I can definitely see how things came to this.
They said that about FWD too, I would just ignore it. Those are just the people who drive to the grocery store and back.

one of my wife's friends refuses to look at any car that doesn't have AWD... claims its soooooo much better in the rain. Any time she says that, I laugh, and tell her if she knew how to drive, rain wouldn't be a major problem, much less snow. When she brings up snow, I laugh and say, "If ya need AWD to get moving on a snowy road, then you don't need to be driving then, as you will probably mess up stopping pretty bad...."
I always find it amusing also...

wow! quick exit. makes me worry about the faith of my new rx8. one thing I noticed by just joining the forum is that some rx8 owners do have serious problems leading to a premature sale of their car. Is it not possible to fix it as I am sure it is under warranty? warranty usually means it is free to fix unless electronic items are not covered.
We need to have a monthly regional meet to get our members together. We can take a short drive and share experiences.
I am from socal and would like to meet members for a quick drive on ortega highway 79. it is a fun and twisty road. I used to own a porsche and did this drive many times with my fellow porsche club members.
let me know what you think.
