sand interior

I REALLY want to get my hands on a set of this stuff. I've only seen a few cars on here that have it (not the shinka stuff, the kind that is all leather).

Firstly, what year models was it specific to?

Secondly, does anyone know anyone else who is interested in selling/trading for cloth +$$

Seats and panels look like an 05 BCM shinka BUT the rest of the interior looks like a stock 8. If it's the 05 color you want it was called Parchment White. Sand color came with the 06 shinkas.

Yep, the all leather "Parchment" is in the '05 Shinka edition. They're actually a bit darker shade then that picture (which as cited is not a Shinka, unless it's had some trim replaced).

Along with the BCM paint, the interior was a definite plus in my purchase decision process.

hmmm okay interesting. I guess no one bought this interior since they only made it one year? But I love it.

I have seen this interior locally in 07 models that were for sale used... one was a Stormy Blue Mica and the other was a Brilliant Black...

The parchment leather was also a factor in my decision to get an '05 BCM Shinka. The light interior coupled with the dark paint looks cool.

(Also, for me, all-black interiors—RX-8 included—tend to all feel the same, just kinda "black" without much of an awareness of what the interior actually looks like, if that makes any sense.)

Just my 2¢.

That is not a factory interior, it was done in an upholstry shop; looks pretty good though.

Look close at the picture, no seat heaters and if you look real close you can just see the seat back adjusting handle. Factory seat would have a power adjustment. Also, the color; that color was used on the '05 Shinka but Shinka's were not available with navigation. Look at the pillar, you can see it's blue not BCM.

lol I think your wrong on this one. (EDZRIDE) It seems strange and unlikely that a person on autotrader and 2 locals to cornholio have the same custom work? Impossible no.. but we need someone that has it to chime in.

Well, I pulled that pic from google.

the picture is not a shinka, because it has nav and is auto. The fact that it has no seat heaters... well I can't explain that, maybe the same reason it has no power seats? Maybe concept car or something of the like, could be custom.

Either way, I don't care. I want the color!!!

Yes, Parchment came in the 05 RX-8 but that picture is not an 05. Nav was not an option in the 05 Shinka.

if you notice, in some of the cars, the armrests are parchment too. which seems rather dumb, because it would turn into a nice grey...

Sand/beige interiors look nice when they are new, but seem to age very poorly unless they are meticulously kept.

My '07 (Phantom Blue Mica ext.) has this interior. It is NOT the same as the Shinka interior, which has suede material in the center area. This was a factory interior color option in '07, maybe a few other years as well. I have seen it on one other Phantom Blue Mica, and two Stormy Blue cars. It's not very common, about 95 % of all the cars I have seen are grey cloth or grey leather. I had been looking at 8's for a couple months when I saw mine online, and I knew that interior was the one I wanted.

Those pics are actually the ones the dealer had on their website when I found the car. It still looks just the same, thanks to (1) my incredible talent and perseverence in maintaining it, and (2) the fact that I don't drive the car much!

I am biased to this interior. Custom work...and drop dead gorgeous on a WWP.

This was another member's interior ~a year ago? He did that to a lease, and had to strip it out and pay to return to stock interior for the give back. These pics were after 2 years of use (and care )

ya, his name was Kris.

His interior is like famous around here. I didn't know he had to rip it all out?! he shoulda just traded with someone who had the interior he needed.

I have thought about doing custom, but from pictures... the fit is just never quite as good.

Methinks you didn't read the above 2 posts

Yeah, Kris, that was his name. Haven't heard from him since he posted that he was stripping it down to give back. Painful getting rid of that.

I think the fit will end up being based on how much you pay for the work. Matching a 2-tone interior to your exterior paint has it's upsides.

Edit:
NM, he last had a post counted September, but signed on to the site 3 days ago, and has quite a few posts in the Parts For Sale section. He has a 335 now that he has put over $15k in mods into from one of his posts.

That aftermarket interior shows some bad fitment wear in the driver's seat. Aftermarket is hard to get right.
