The only thing about the car I don't like is that it gets about 10mpg around town. That hurts, even from someone that still owns two V8 cars. Other than that, though, I am extremely happy with the car. The overall driving experience is fantastic, and I'm really diggin' the attention the car gets.

I vote Totally Satisfied, I was disappointed at first with the gas mileage even though it hovered right around 18MPG. I am getting more like 20 now with mixed driving, 22 Highway. Absolutely love the car.

Highly satisfied! I am 6'4" and fit great.
Did have the hard starting problem, but now OK. City milage is 18 and highway 22 @ 75~80. Did a trip in the northern Georgia mountains and got 24.5!
Did take a while to get use to the clutch and throttle compared to my 84 RX7 GSL-EFI. Mainly the engine reacts faster to the throttle.
There are a few things I would like to see in the future and will trade in for a new 8 when they arrive. More digital display (actual tire pressure, MPG, etc. climate control).
LOVE IT and all the nice thumbs up.

I admit I had buyer's remorse after I ordered my car. But now that I have had it a few weeks.... WOW this car is awesome.
I was worried about the start-up / flooding problem, but as long as you kill the engine at 3k rpm and start it by turning the key to power up the CD/ecu ect then crank it, it fires up instantly with absolutely no problem.
I LOVE this car :D

I LOVE the car! In fact, I'll be taking it in very soon to have its third oil change, and get flashed to M, and the recalls fixed very soon.
In fact, if the M flash gives me more power as many have said, I'll be even happier because I received the benefits of $500 + free service for the life of the car, and I get the benefits of the power probably close to what was originally speced with the ECU flash.
All in all, the only thing I could complain about is the buying process and the bullcrap that I put up with to bring it home. They treated me like crap and I'll never enter that dealer's door again, luckily there is another dealer closer to me that services the car. In fact, they treated me so bad that it was hard to keep the car when the buy-back option was presented...but I loved it too much and now I'm even happier I kept it. Of course, paying $600 a month for it can be harsh sometimes...but hell, you only live once might as well have fun :D.

Can something that turns this many heads be voted anything less than totally satisfied? And I don't even have an eye-catching color! To list my only complaint would be beating a dead horse, so I'll just change the topic and say I've never had so much fun keeping a car clean, much less driving it. Does anything look better than a freshly washed 8? Certainly an excellent upgrade from my '96 Accord....

This car is great..
Self leveling headlamps , !! the Tire pressure monitering system,
the auto pilot, the super fast windows. 18 inch Tires!!! ..
OMG the list goes on and on . this car is a great buy for the money. It halls ***. and if you know how to drive it you can wipe out just about every V8 you see.

Love it ..

well...my first car was a 2001 Eclipse GS...automatic (boo)...needless to say, it was slow as molassis and very unfun to drive. i traded it in for an evo. that car was just obnoxiously fast. 13 and a half pounds of boost kicking everything i raced in the butt. but it rode really rough. not fun to drive (seems to be a common factor) and then i got my rx8. best car yet by a long shot. fun to drive, fast, and smooth. couldn't be happier...well, unless parts were cheaper.

I did not vote, but this seems to be an active thread, so here goes: I have recently become more intrigued by the RX-8 and appreciate everybody's comments here. The 6 speed would be my definite choice. I am weighing different options and was curious as to whether the Dynamic Stability Control makes enough difference to warrant the additional $1,000+ expense of the Sport Package.

Happy as a clam! I've had a couple of little glitches, but for a new car and a year one model at that, in perspective, it's great! I've owned some horror show cars in the past that were trouble right out of the showroom!
