My dad had a carrera gt till my mom made him trade it in for a SL 500. She wanted him to get a conv. I loved that car he let me drive it to prom a few years ago and he had trouble giving me the keys lol.

Carrera GTs are a thing of beauty, but they are enormous, much like a Gallardo or Murcie. Just absolutely gigantic in tight traffic. Anyone remember the stories of having to sit on the edge of the Countach's sill in order to see behind the car whilst parking?
Then again, I suppose these cars are meant to be driven, very quickly, forward. Parking is probably inconsequential...

Second rule of italian driving: stoplights have 3 lights... and they're all green.
I've been in the driver's seat of a countach before (just sat, didn't drive) and you can't see anything at all, not even the hood. your feet are nearly level with your chest and the door sill is about 4 inches above your thighs when sitting in it, so I can see sitting on it as being a very good vantage point. The rearview mirror is useless. But I was pretty busy trying not to cream my pants at the time and didn't care about the drawbacks one bit, had I driven it it would have been another story since the owner would probably cut my ***** off if I'd put the slightest dent in it.

I can't imagine any red-blooded guy relenting to the will of his wife in such a manner. I mean going from a Carrera GT to a SL500 is like going from Heaven to Hell.
And also, I can't imagine any sane human being/parent tossing the keys to his supercar to his pimply faced teenager so he can take his date to the prom.
Unbelievable.
