Say it ain't so!
Just received a spammail from Mazda:
A few months? Nooooooooooooooo!
We know you're dying to get your claws on the 2004 Mazda RX-8. While production vehicles are still a few months away, did you know you can catch the Mazda RX-8 X-Men Car in action on the big screen in X2: X-Men United?

someone has a VIN number, which means at the very least production had at least begun (meaning metal to metal) when it was offically made a VIN, which means that his car (by now) is certainly completed.
oh, oops: "it ain't so!"

don't worry about that. i mean it's an ad that is already like 2- 3 weeks late. the "3 things an xman needs" commercial has been run hundreds if not thousands of times already. "it ain't so"......
........although 2 months is not an extreme possibility for delivery so "months" is not really wrong even though "few" generally means 3.

I got it, too. It should have gone out before the commercial aired 2 weeks ago to be "exclusive". I was disappointed. But then again, if they had shown all new clips of the car from the movie, there would be no reason to go to the movie.
And I take the term "production vehicles" to mean the regular supply that will show up after we have been driving our cars for several weeks! This time frame is in line with the 'original' schedule of pre-orders June thru October and cars in the showroom for sale in November, i.e. a few months.

Got a email from the dealer saying they just got brochures, and VIN #s should be any day. Said it looks like they're building Touring pkg first, with Sport & GT not far behind. Said all 1st allocation should be at the dealer at the same time.
I really wanna say it ain't so, but you know... if they started the Japanese models in mid Feb. like they said, and it took till late April-early May to show up, thats 2.5+ months. If they start ours now, add 2. 5 months, you've got mid/late July, it seems (+shipping). Man, I hope not! This waiting game is getting tough, even though I know it'll eventually get here.
