Angry Seatbelt locks when taking turns fast

I don't like it when the seatbelt locks when I take a turn fairly fast. Anyone else have this problem?

It's not a problem...it's a safety feature. Why do you not like it? It keeps me from sliding all over the place.

Ha ha, funny you mentioned this. I wore a plain, white T-shirt a day ago on a 'spirited' drive. When I went inside, I noticed that my shirt was 'pinched' in between my boobies where the belt had tightened so much!!

not a problem. it has pretensioners. on purpose. it's a saftey thing. helps lower the insurence rate or at least it did for me. it was one of the things they asked if it had.

edit: i started this reply an hour ago. damn work got busy

and meow you say the sweetest things:D

Sigh...

Some guys, I swear to god...

Something tells me they got this car in order to get some female attention b/c they're obviously not getting it otherwise...

i think its because during a sharp turn, it anticipates an accident. it thinks your avioding an accident. today in my moms bmw 530i, she had to swerve off the road to aviod someone who abruptly came into our lane. it wasnt so bad, and my body wasnt moving so much, but i noticed that the seatbelt was holding me back from moving at all until we started driving normally again.

i woulda kicked someones *** if the 530 got into an accident. god i wonder how territorial im gonna be when i get my 8.

Why else would you get the 8?! J/J!!! :p
More attention the better!!! Doesn't mean you're not getting attention!!

My post was serious! My shirt was 'pinched' and creased for the rest of the day!
I had a car accident back in '98 (new car of 2 mos.) when I was ran off the road, which just so happened to be at a bridge section! I had a 20 ft. drop and head-on into a barn side. I had a broke thumb, busted kneecaps (hit dash), and upper left lung was collapsed from the seat belt impact. I was wearing an acrylic blend top that had permanent creases and the acrylic had burned from the seat belt friction!

Scary stuff!

I hate it when it locks up on me when I'm try to lean forward to see if anyone's in my blind spot when I'm merging onto the highway. I'm not turning or accellerating (yet )

I feel ya here, the seat belts are a little touchy. They lock on me when I'm trying to maneuver, back up, lean forward, etc. It ends up pissing me off and I have to yank on it over and over to get it to unlock just so i can back out of a parking spot.

My GF (5 mo. preg.) hates this feature. I haven't had a problem with it myself...in fact I think I'd prefer a 5 point harness (more restrictive).

Ouch! That's a scary wreck.

And now the obligatory:
I wouldn't mind being Meowloud's acrylic blend top.

Oh, and nobody ever got laid before the RX-8. It's a miracle we were ever born.

Seriously, about the seatbelt locking thing: It is a little bit too sensitive, but I'm glad the feature is there in case of an accident.

I guess it wouldn't be so bad if it unlocked quicker...but it seems to take its sweet time releasing me so that I can do things like move.

Actually, I just realize that I never noticed it because I pull on the seatbelt when I strap in to lock it in place as firmly as possible. I then have to unstrap it to go to the ATM or put my card in to open the gate for my apartment. I sit with my seat back near verticle so it doesn't bother me to have the seatbelt tight.

BTW you aren't supposed to be moving, you're supposed to be driving!!!

I'm not trying to do the Can Can, just trying to move forward a bit to see out the mirror and stuff. It constricts me and I start to get panicky and want to be seated between Meowloud's breast... oh sorry got distracted.

I thought you WERE trying to do the cancan or the peepeedance lol

A friend of mine has big breasts and she's always shooting me dirty looks because she says it hurts when I break suddenly, or shift less than perfectly.

I dont notice because I'm strapped in safely.. and I dont have breasts.

Another BTW, I'm pretty certain that Meow has more than one breast :p

It's how seat belts in Hondas work and it's what I'm used to. When I had a Pontiac, it was actually annoying taking a turn and NOT having the seat belts lock on me.
