After reading some threads about seatbelts, and personally having tried this, I am concerned with the seatbelt being attached to the door.

If you put the seatbelt on, and then open the door, you about strangle yourself with relative ease in the seat from just your arms pressure. If the car is in an accident, and the door is damaged to the point it opens, this could potentialy remove your head (and maybe give you the worlds smallest waist line). Does anyone have thoughts on this?

I have seen the images from a Japanise publication that show the side impact, but nothing that shows aftermath photos.
