Sell my 8 to buy this 8?

I have a 2006 rx8 gt manual with 37k miles (completely stock)

I have recently found an 2004 rx8 priced at $10,000, The body has 98,000 miles on it, but a new engine replaced by mazda only has 46,000 miles on it.

Will the miles on the body have a big impact on how long the car will last?

The man said the paint is completely perfect besides one little dent next to the windshield.

Here are some things the car includes:

Performance Mods:
Racing Beat REVI Ram Air Intake
Whiteline Sway Bars
Racing Beat Endlinks
Mazdaspeed Strut Bar
Mazdaspeed Catback Exhaust
Unorthodox Racing Pulleys
Performance Drilled Rotors
Stainless Steel Brake Lines
Tokico D-Spec Adjustable Struts/Shocks
Tokico Lowering Springs

Exterior Mods:
Mazdaspeed Appearance Package
TSW Jarama 18x8, 18x9.5 Staggered Wheels
Seibon TS Carbon Fiber Hood

Interior Mods:
Pioneer F90BT Navigation Media Center
Mazdaspeed Interior Trim
Custom Leather Interior
Alpine PDX5 Amplifier
Alpine TypeX/R Subwoofer

The only negative about this car is it's automatic.

Should i sell my 8 and buy this one? or is the car likely to be doomed soon due to the mileage on the body?

are you crazy?

unless you love ALL OF THOSE MOD and will get it for SURE, there is NO REASON to sell yours and get another car of the SAME model

When it comes to selling a car, mods mean almost ZERO value to most "potential" buyer.

not to mention, a 2004 GOD-FORBID AUTOMATIC is painfully slow.

Nycgps is right - the auto has only 4 intake ports, and is a bit of a dog.

Don't do it....

I don't mind if its an automatic, unless if it looks way better than my car right now. It's like buying a Nissan GT-R, it looks good, very expensive, and its an auto.

you don't have to get a newer manual it can be the same year. the manuals pretty much have had the same engine for the S1 rx8s, its the early autos that were 4ports and were really shitty. the newer autos are 6ports, but the manual is way better. lets you have more fun with the car imo. and if you're worried about learning how to drive stick it isn't that hard.

Yes, but the GT-R uses a dual clutch, the RX-8 does not.

So, just out of curiosity, why do you want to switch from a newer car, still under warranty, with more power, and a manual transmission to this older car, no longer under warranty, with a less powerful engine, and automatic transmission?

Is there some reason why you want a car with an automatic transmission, or is it just because some of the mods this car has installed on it, you want, but you don't want to install them on your car?

Do you just prefer red over whatever color your current car is?

Did you lose your job, and you can't afford car payments anymore?

Come on, tell us why you would even think of a trade like this, and what it is about the red car that makes you want it.

BC.

Why do you have to ask?
Keep what you have. If not you will sorry.
I do not care what the car looks like, if it just sits there, it is no good.
And I will tell you...when it happens....I told you so.

Yours an exception Phil. Even though yours an automatic, you have some serious mods with it, and your auto is faster than other 6-speed rx8's out there.

Yea, I wouldn't trade the 06 8 for an 04 8. No matter on the car's specs. And 37k in a 06 is great. I thought I had low miles. 42k 07.
