Lightbulb To sell or not to sell... that is the question

I would be keen to hear opinions as to when is the best time for me to sell my RX8 - Lara. She's a 2003 model just about to hit 100,000kms.

What is the expected lifespan? I have heard from Mazda service that the parts last for approx 5 years and that they can start breaking down from 150,000km? True? BS?

I've just about had enough of fixing it after it gets keyed so it might be the time to sell now... the only MAJOR issue is what to replace it with... seriously there is nothing on the market that's this unique/good for the money...

Comments please?

I wouldn't worry about the reliability. Even if it has some minor problems it will be way cheaper than getting a new car. How about getting an extended warranty?

By the way, don't listen to dealer people. They probably want you to buy a new car.

There's nothing else I would want in the market in this price range...unless you could somehow swing a bmw 335 or a Cayman!

Yeah reliability, there are guys on here with 100K+ cars. Just keep doing the scu reg service and you should be ok. If you want to sell the car you should have did that when you had low miles on her. Thats what new buyers look for. Cayman? get a used 911 for 36-40K I dont know how much they run in AU but thats the price out where I'm at.

the only reason to get rid of cars is that they're rusted out with cancer.... i've seen rx7's with more then 400,000kms... highest rx8 i've seen was 200,000kms

the thing that makes cars have high mileage is scheduled maintance!

100000Kms = 65000 miles. I dont think thats a lot of mileage. Again, it depends on how you are driving it.
