Smile Selling S2000, will RX-8 get a power bump?

Hi all

Selling my s2000 either in aug or early next year depends what models come out......

I really haven;t heard to much media talk or even Mazda about the 2007 RX-8. When will we hear official news? Will there be a bump in power? New design etc I saw the long thread on this but not much else.

all I can see this year so far is the EVO IX MR but for next year there is the new STI redesign, power boost, then also new g35 coupe total redisgn and power boost also....RX-8 is on my radar if there is a bump in power.

i would wait if i were you. s2k is a better performer imo. rx8 is close to the s2k in terms of performance except, you get more practicality. Which more mature drivers w/kids want these days.

Yeh if RX-8 stays the same powerwise then I wont put it on the list but if it were to get a bump I'd really look at it.

the only bump in power you'd be likely to see is one you gave it yourself.

Had all bolt ons and gears, just parting her out now, guessing I was at low 13s but the car was not practical at all and just got old to me...Basically fell out of love, Looks outdated to me now also which means its time to move on. plu sI live in seattle, the weather is hardly convert weather..............

The new car market for late 06 and early 07 looks to be great though

The rotary is not easy with R&D.

A SFR or PTP Turbo would do the trick, assuming money isn't a problem.

The 8 won't give you the same performance and power as the S2K, but it does give you 2 extra seats.

The Mazda 3 is getting the MAZDASPEED treatment for 2007. So, while this is a total guess, it would seem that if the 8 is going to get a bump it's unlikely to happen until late 2007 at the earliest.

My god those are awful sideskirts... Why on earth would you do that to an S2K? Also calling an S2K dated seems crazy to me, it's about as classic as cars come. The S2K will still look great 30 years from now which I can't say about many cars on the road.

Lastly, if history holds true the RX-8 should have about 224hp next year

They are called comptech sides and are popular with the s2ks. Sold mine pretty quick. I stilll have the amuse lip as the s2k doesnt look right without a lip

s2000 could be a classic as much as the 350z, s2ks have been in production for 7 years and they are everywhere now......

Also Honda doesn't have much care in upgrading them, the 04+ was hardly an upgrade not even faster......... the Sky and solistice will be the new level now for roadsters 260hp and 260 tq.

No I already made up my mind on selling, the car is pretty much stock now. I had all the bolt ons gears, body kit, Advan RG IIs etc all have been sold...

So from you guys it doesn't look like RX-8 will get more power

If it bothers you how many S2Ks are on the road don't buy and RX-8, or just about every other car worth having under 50k.

Also, the G35 coming out in a year or so is really just a refresh not a total redesign.

And less noise and more more comfort and more hip room and more shoulder room.

A buddy at work has one. If you are 5' 8" and have a 10 minute commute where you can open it up, the S2000 is not bad. I am 6' and can barely get in the thing.

Forgot they just revised that and delayed it a bit as a result.

the solstice is butt ugly with that front end they made fore it, the sky is ok, I think they really copied the ferrari F430 tho when they were making it
