Semi-rice RX-8 image
Inspired by a recent post...
... here's my "sorta rice, sorta nice" concept.
It's kindof interesting for me because some changes are things I really like, and others are things I'd never do to an RX-8. I dig the meaty front camber, deeper engine 'vent' behind the front wheel, and the slightly deeper nose intakes. Yet I despise the stickers, chromed grille mesh, and huuge wheels. Oddly I'm kindof indifferent to the big wing and the gunmetal wheels (which didn't come out right, by the way -- the original silver looked more natural but you've all seen those).
Spot the other changes and win a gold star! :p
Everyone knows thats what Hercules secretly wants to build...an 8 ricer!

I wouldn't do any of that, cept for the clear side markers, they are nice. I'd still have an orange bulb inside, but I prefer the white markers.
Wheels got bigger and tires smaller, and the rims now shine with a disgusting gold color that's totally retarded looking.
Seems the headlights got some darkening inside them... not sure though. Can't say I mind. So long as there is enough light thrown on the road, and as long as there is HID!!!
Too low for my taste. Driving a 98 Millenia you realize that when you scrape over speedbumps it's NOT a good thing. I prefer the ideal balance where I'm low enough to hug the pavement on turns, but high enough to clear the speedbumps.
Don't like the chrome anything... I like the classy and understated look of the RX-8 as it is stock. The only thing I'd probably do is get that lip spoiler (just for an accent at the end of the rear end) and the one interior upgrade would be a hard wiring of my Valentine1 radar detector.

Zio, you mean a wing?? (sorry, but i'm picky when it comes to aero... )

nice job Bryan

Hehehe that was me that accused Herc of ricing out his 8.
We all know he's going to do it. Here this is the REAL! Riced out ricer.
Can't find it. Screw it.
I just enjoy keeping the car stock.
Wakeech always tells me...
(Old man voice)
Buddy! You gotta rip out all that heavy crap! You gotta get all that heavy crap out! You gotta get aftermarket suspension! You gotta get that aftermarket suspension! You gotta do a whole bunch of stuff!
(end old man voice)
I just like to keep the car stock, the way it was meant to be built.
By saying all this, I mean that I HATE ricers, and I hate those wierd Body kits. Liket the Tsunami ones on Preludes, and such.
That's just my 3 CAN cents.

Heh, I'm at my aunt's place right now and she has one of these LCD flatscreen monitors. My photoshopped pic looked pretty nice on my monitor in 1280x1024, but on this super-sharp LCD screen at 640x480, I can see every little JPEG artifact in the picture, and it just looks ugly. Yech.
I wonder who moved this post to this forum and why. I thought for sure it belonged in the Multimedia section. Not that I'm complaining - I'm just befuddled (as I easily am sometimes ).
Ditto. I have clear front lenses on my current car, and I bought orange bulbs to go behind them (car originally had clear bulbs with amber/brown lenses).
I'm surprised a few of you are already 'planning' to leave your 8s stock. If I get one it'll stay understated, but likely mildly enhanced by slightly lowering it, getting the lip spoiler, rear fog light, clear side lenses, and tinted windows. The lowering would improve the looks of the car while also improving performance (if done right).
Anyway these were just some crazy ideas. The car had a lot more impact with the silver wheels. Maybe when I get home I'll upload a version of this picture with the original wheels.

"big *** aluminum wing, big *** heavy wheels, big *** heavy-and-non-functional-wing, chicken wire custom grill insert, and go-fast stickers baby :D"
rice-a-roni, the san fransico treat!! *ding* *ding*

Carbon fibre looks butt ugly IMHO. What about those adjustable wings, that so many are fond of, in that monotonous silver, even if the car is yellow, or some other colour. Yuck, just give me the stock spoiler thanks.

Oh that's a painted CF hood on the car... didn't you know? Yeah... :p
wakeech, you know those stickers are good for 5hp each (Holographic Power). :D
Here's one you guys might like a little better... I call this the "clean" version.
No more stickers, no emblem or door handles either, the grille is a very subtle black one (probably the way the factory one will be), the side marker lens is 'thinner', ride height is a little higher, the wheels are obviously silver again, and the wing is gone. I'm still kinda split on that wing... part of me likes it, carbon-fibre and all. Just as long as it's well made and doesn't have those aluminum posts. I saw one today on a Hyundai that was flappin' in the breeze on the highway. Cheap!
