Series 2 to Series 1

Hey Im just wondering if anyone has ever gone from owning a Series 2 to a series 1? I know the differences between the two, but was just wondering other peoples experiences.

Interesting question. I would expect people doing the opposite.

The reason I ask is because I have a R3 and love it, but hate the lack of options for modding the car. There so much more for the series one.

What are you looking for? I'm not aware of anything the S1 can do that the S2 can't, except less bodywork options, and no SOHN.

Well in terms of forced induction and tunning, its been done a lot more and all the kits that are out seem more suited to a series one as well as a few odds and ends. Now that I enjoy modifying my Rx8 I kinda wish I got a series one for all the options that exist for modding and the wealth of info that exists for the series one.

Tuning is essentially identical to the S1, both using reflash tools, and one compatible with both generations.

Series1 turbocharging is entirely custom from the ground up, every kit has to be overhauled to the point of being custom anyway. So no real difference for the S2 there. There are differences of course, but in general you face the same degree of challenge and customization needed for each.
