Service History
I was looking at the various rx8 maintainence sheet in my car. I realised that the guy who owned it before didnt update the maintainence book in the car. Alteast from the documents I have now I know nothing about when the oil was changed, spark plugs replaced(if they did) etc. I may go to a Mazda dealer, I dont know what they can pull out? Any one has any clue on how I can get the service history of the car?

I'd start anew then you know 1st hand pull the maintenance yourself. If all the work was done by the dealer you should be able to cross reference it or pull it up if the delear's local or the computers are connected. Some are, some are not.

how many miles before you bought the 8?

how long have you had the car? (how many miles on it now)
I would recommend getting your service manual and checking to see what maintenance is coming up on your car and be prepared to possibly do a little more.
- Check your spark plugs asap. Our plugs are very good but once they start to go bad, performance and mpg will definitely suffer. Fastest way to do that is to jack up the front left side of the car, remove the wheel, and the spark plugs are straight ahead. (very different then our piston friends )
- check your tires.
- check your air filter. If it's clogged or dirty, replace or look into an intake if you want an upgrade.
- if you end up replacing the spark plugs, ONLY use OEM style plugs. (some guys here recommend RX7 plugs, but just stick with the NGK's. www.onlinemazdaparts is your friend for that)
- Check your ignition coils. (follow the sparkplug wire up) There's a service bulletin on www.finishlineperformance.com for them. If you have a multimeter, you can check them yourself.
- If I think of anything else, I'll get back to ya.
