shifting
When shifting from 1st to 2nd going about 35-40 it seems like its hard to get it into 2nd gear. At the dealership the guy was saying something about how there is sensors that prevent you from putting it in the wrong gear and blowing up the engine... Am i suppose to just pull down on the shift **** harder to force it into gear?

It's probably becuase going 30-40 in 1st you're in relatively high RPM, and that same speed in 2nd is much lower RPM. You either need to REV it less in 1st, ram it in in 2nd and make the synchros do the rev-matching or let the RPM fall more before trying to put it into second. You'll notice that it's much easier if you let it fall to 2-3000 before shifting.
