Shifting from Auto to Manual????

Can I shift from auto to manual while driving? Or do I have to wait till I stop then make the switch then?

Don;t have to brake at all. Just shift over whenever you want.

TheWulf: Don't even go there... My car is the best!!

I guess my next lesson would be to learn how to drive a real standard. My fav gears are 2nd & 3rd...

Do you guys every use 6th gear in the city?

1yr 3/4... LoL Dozer...I've been doing it all along... Just wanted to make sure that's all. I've never driven manual before so this auto/manual is all a lesson for me... even though my car is almost 2yrs old.

Hell yes to that! Nothing like redlining 3 gears getting onto the highway.

I use 6th anytime I cruise over 60kph. The gears are so short it might as well be a 5 spd. I don't think I ever use 5th.

Wouldn't it be the other way around? I never use 6th but 5th most of the time for cruising.

Yeah I learned my lesson redlining in second in the country...

With an auto all you're doing is changing what criteria the computer uses to decide when to shift. The mechanical shifting procedure within the transmission doesn't change.

lol xD if it weren't so fun driving standard transmission and revving the engine and redlining it occasionally, i'd rather an AT, then I can get my cup of starbucks and talk/txt on the phone or w.e while driving...not that i should be doing any of that...but makes it more convenient xD

That being said, I do find AT on an 8 a problem xD especially before they got the new transmission and only had 4 gears
