Shinka VS GT?
Hey I had a quick question. It may have been answered somewere else but I haven't been able to find it.
What are the differences between an 06 Shinka and the earlier GT's? I'm about to make an offer on one.
Thanks all

shinka comes in the black cherry and has an exclusive cream interior (similar to what is available in the 08 gt). you also get what's now called the rotary accents, and i think there's some special rims. they look like the 18 gt rims, but they're darker, i think.
other than that, nothing. i mean, you get to say you have a the shinka, and that's cool, i guess. but they are no more rare than, say, a lightening yellow gt or a stormy blue gt.
i could be wrong about a lot of this. but i don't think i am.

I just got done shopping the for an RX8 and made my purchase. I test drove at least one Shinka and looked at a few others.
It was my understanding the Shinka had some better suspension parts and some cosmetic (paint, interior like previously described) differences.
I imagine there's some weight difference on the GT from the leather seats and what not.
From the old "butt-dyno", it was my opinion that the the non-Shinka RX8s felt as great as the "regular" RX8s. And on the older models (06 and older ... like the ones i was shopping for), I would imagine the suspension upgrades aren't really as noticable.
The coolest thing I saw about the Shinka was that it was rare.
Just my .02, I'm a total newbie so take it for what it's worth (maybe not much)

The Shinka is effectively a GT, with a year-specific interior/exterior color.
Also a few other goodies (urethane filled cross members, Tokico shocks, etc.)
The '05 was Black Cherry Mica (same as the '04 Miata, but there called Brilliant Ebony).
