Did a quick Autotrader search using max price of 26k and 300 mile radius and found 4, 2005 Shinkas up for sale. For some reason I just found that odd. Only a year or so old special edition car and the owner sold it?

 

not really odd... owner just didn't like it or there were problems.

 

Are you sure some of those aren't new? There was a dealer in Milwaukee that had two new '05 Shinkas in stock as recently as last month.

 

^ Sounds likely. I got a hold of my Shinka relatively easily. Apparently when the Shinka came out no one gave a **** and they still don't. They were floating all over the Northeast late 2005/early 2006 when I looked.

 

Didn't you mention before that there was a dealer that had a bunch of '05 RX-8 left?

Are there any other dealers that do too (that are further south)?

They're getting more sparse, but there is one dealer near me that still has over 6 '05s, I know they had 6xMTs. Another dealer I talked to last week only had a couple MTs left, and another had shipped theirs off to other dealers. There is also one dealer in IL. that claims to have 18 of them. Do an autotrader search for the area you're looking in.

 

There are several 05's in my area that are new. I think all of the Shinka's that came up were used (again my search criteria was 300miles, manual and under 26k). You can get some really good deals on new 05's (GT's) in the 22-24k range asking price (you know they'd sell it for lower). Rx8's appear to be a really good deal for the used car buyer.

Even though my wife has grudingly okayed a M3 I'm a little tempted to get a low mileage 05, 8 just because they are so cheap, would have alot more warranty and it would still be a huge improvement over what I have now. 05 Shinka for 23k or 02 M3 for 32k? Whatever I get I have to keep for a while or I'll really **** the wife off. Sounds like more test driving needs to be done.
