Shock Sensor woes... I'm not a dumbass but help!

Hello all,

Last weekend I successfully installed the PRE-diode updated Shock sensor kit in my 05 RX8. I actually had the diode but the box mazda sent me was missing a part after getting it at radio shack I wanted to finish things up today to get ride of the annoying "blinking dome light" issue caused by the lack of diode.

Anyways - I follow the instructions exactly , cut the brown wire make sure the diode is prepped according to the pic, and install with the lable side going properly... get ready for the test and YAY! no more dome light issue, however the shock sensor doenst work anymore when i slap my palm on the windshield to test it.

I know i didn't fry my shock unit by hooking it up the wrong way because i UN-hookd everything back to the pre-diode config and it works 100% fine (just with the flashing dome light when you close doors.

I can snap a pic later tonight if that would help but I'm running out of options in my head. I disconnected and reconnected everything twice to make sure the wires were exposed and catching on the vampire taps to conduct the signal.

Just one thing I'm wondering about the "Blue/Black" wire that was previously tapped into now (according to my intrepertation of the instructions) is not just 100% left alone now correct?

I don't want to have to take it to mazda and let them charge me 85 dollars just for 5 minutes of work. But im getting desperate. Just confused - I installed just fine the shock unit by itself but this diode update is driving me insane.

Thanks in advance!
Jeff

Arrow Diode.....

I got the update, then the sensor didn't work at all, until I turned the diode around .

The instructions (as I remember them) say to put the mark on the diode towards "the module", however, they meant the "keyless control module" which the sensor attaches to, NOT the sensor "module". That was the confusion in my case.

If it ain't the diode polarity, you may be hooped.
