Any hoo . I think some new turbo threads are in order
1 for Greddy
1 for MM
1 for Mazsport
1 for Esmeril

That way we can all get elitist about our tubos and have cat fights with each other from over the fence .
could just be the bubbles talking .....

I don't think we need anymore companies blaming RX8club for them going out of business.

All joking aside - we could do an exreme turbo thread.

Showcase what all we have done to these kits; not just what comes out of the box.

I was thinking of something along the lines of " how to get the most out of your Greddy turbo" etc
We have plenty of threads devoted to problems - not enough to fine tuning ...

I welcome the discussion, but do not take part because I am not technical enough to add to the overall knowledge and the discussion soon turns ugly.
As amply demonstrated on this forum, people that are "pro-turbo" demonstrate vastly more interest in the discussion and science of FI than people that are "pro-supercharger".
In every thread I can recall, the discussion of any particular turbo system starts with the positing of flow characteristics, packaging constraints, materials selection, power goals, etc.
The supercharger discussions are almost all postmortem, if you will, looking for explanations of why/how it works after the fact (if it does properly) with not-so-reasoned comparisons to "similar" turbo systems.
In almost every discussion about the technology, the "pro-turbo" people will discuss the support systems in terms of their general application, while "pro-supercharger" people will only discuss such things in the context of their particular system of choice.
When "pro-turbo" people present any sort of hard data, graphs, charts or plots, the reaction of the "pro-supercharger" camp is almost always "you hate superchargers!", whereas when the "pro-supercharger" camp presents the same sort of data, the "pro-turbo" camp just presents even more data, or essentially dismantles the data and puts it in a "non-denominational" context.
Eventually, every single discussion on every aspect of FI that has included both groups in any capacity has ended with the "pro-turbo" camp shaking their heads ruefully in disbelief and the "pro-supercharger" camp hurling their feces like a pack of wild monkeys. Figuratively, of course.

Its not that one group just likes one system more than the other.

Its that "pro-turbo" people here assert that the choice of a system must be made via a reasoned approach to the data and "pro-supercharger" people believe the choice can only be made by "preference".
There just really isn't any reasoned discussion here.
In my business I have several vehicles that are turboed and a two that have a s/c. My personal dislike is due to amount of time the vehicles are "down" due to turbo related problems. We have two vehicles with a s/c and never have had a problem with them. My past experience has always been with super chargers so I go with what I understand and feel will have the best chanse of lasting.

I still say we should ban together and go pick on the NA people.... now THAT would be fun.
+1, that sounds like a great idea

I have had an awful experience with Gin in the summer of 1994. Now, I wont go anywhere near the stuff. Even the slightest whiff makes me gag.
That does NOT mean that Vodka makes the better Martini.
It just means that my opinion - which is statistically insignificant in the world of martinis - is that Gin is disgusting.
Now, I could go on and on; start a thread about vodka drinkers and maintain the superiority of vodka over gin; I could disparage anyone that rightly points out that gin is the proper ingredient for a martini, using my own experience as an absolute indicator; I could surround myself exclusively with other vodka martini drinkers and insulate myself from the gin drinkers.

And all this would be fine and well.

But it would have absolutely no bearing on what is and isn't the proper way to make a Martini.

Now, you could, of course, say that it is a matter of opinion. That "taste" or "preference" are the deciding factors. And, your argument would be irrefutable since "taste" is a gratuitous assertion and, as such, cannot be refuted.
But that would be simply dodging the real issue.

i had that gin experience in about '85. havent touched gin since.

Original Martini drinkers could go on and on about how stupid the gin haters are and constantly tell them how wrong they are for ever considering an alternative.

they could continue this on and on ad nauseum to the point where the vodka martini drinkers feel the need to sequester themselves and just get away from the howlers.

Then when Gin advocates confront them even in their sequestration the Vodka people could get fed up with and start retaliating with insults hoping the harpies WOULD JUST STOP ALREADY. The Gin advocate Harpies could then cry foul about how nasty those Vodka drinkers were being to them and how not nice they were being.

boo- ******* -hoo

Maybe they made a choice and are happy with it and they are tired of the GIN guys trying to change their minds.

Kinda like the AT bashing - ask E about that
