just bought my very first 8 a few weeks ago and I absolutely love it. I have not met one single person woh doesn't just have a fit over it. My wife is starting to dislike it because she says it turns to many heads of fine females!! LOL
And I haven't had this much fun driving car in my 28 years of driving. I'm 43 and loving every minute of it.
Even more fun giving the 8 a bath!!! Fantastic car!!

If you get a Sport package for the base model, you get a good package for autocrossing without added weight of leather, extra audio poundage, homelink, and extra motors & heating elements in your seats. It also doesn't come with a sunroof that adds weight, reduces headroom, and introduces potential creaking from shearing forces while turning hard.

Sport package adds:
xenon headlamps
foglamps
sport suspension, LSD, and 18" wheels (comes w/ 6 spd)
DSC (Dynamic Stability Control)

I ran the 2 lane roads of Floyd county with an RX3 back in the 70s. Was only one red light in the whole county back then and probably not to many more now. Lets see, I remember Floyd as the only county in VA without any railroad tracks and all streams flow out of the county, not a single one flows in. Beautiful country with some great driving.
