Do you have anyone that works for The Ford Family or is an affiliate? You could try to get a PIN for the X/S Plan. For example, my hubby got his Titanium GT with everything but nav (Including in dash CD changer) for ~$29,400. And I got a similar deal since you can get (2) PIN numbers every 12 months.

NEVER put a down payment on a lease. That's called capital cost reduction and it will put you forever upside down. Even if you get gap insurance, it won't cover your down payment. When leasing, negotiate the purchase price, the rate and the residual, in that order. NEVER get suckered into capital cost reduction.

If you can, wait a bit. Once the 2005 RX-8s hit the dealerships, the 2004 RX-8 will come down in price. I heard they are starting productions of the 2005 Aug-Oct 04.

Here is a copy of my car's specs:

http://tyrannical.org/rx8/index2.html

It's 6MT, GT, and Navi. The dealer installed the MS spoiler for me, and I got all of that for $31,000 (Doesn't include tax)

A 6MT + GT with no other add ons should cost you $28,620 (and that includes destination charge) OR LESS.

Just got it this morning, 6-speed, bone stock, just like I said. I'm still very happy because most cars that come stock don't have things like CD players, or 6-speed trans, ect, so I'm very happy with my buy (even though I still don't think I can afford the car heh)

Also...don't ask for pics, I had to sell my camera to buy this darn thing! J/k, I just don't have anything but a disposable camera, and last time i checked they don't have a place to hook my computer into. Just close your eyes, make your car titanium, and remove all your options and thats what my car looks like! Thanks everyone for the feedback btw.

I dont know... I asked every sales man at the dealer, Well not every one but, This is what I asked;
Q:"How many people try to buy this car and dont get it?".
A:"Many"...

That's understandable. I went to three different dealers and told them when I called to make an appointment that I was coming to BUY the car. Walked out of two of them because they were not worthy of doing business with. (I am being very polite) More people would buy if the dealers weren't trying to skin everyone that walks through the door.
