Most parents think that in today's standard, Manual Transmission is simply pathetic. Whats wrong with Automatic ? They shift it for you, you dont have to care about anything. and its just driving a car. no need to make it so complicated.

They dont understand that most Automatic transmission, even after what, 20-30 years of development ? Still inferior to the Manual Transmission brother (Assume that the person who drives knows how to use MT property)

Even super automatic transmission like the ones they use in Ferrari, is based on MT setups, the *only* automatic part is that the car will do the shifting for you. thats it. Hell those tranny can even Rev match for you.

but if you cant afford it on your own, maybe you should stop thinking about it for now, work hard, earn your own money, buy it yourself. cuz it feels completely different when you buy something with your own money. begging sucks.

Don't make it sound worst than it is... I have a second-hand, "cursed VIN" 2004 and the "ton of problems" so far was "changing the spark plugs". As long as he understands that the dealer is doing this because they'll profit from it and that he does his homework, namely inspecting the car, getting a carfax and as much info on previous owners as possible... it could be a good deal.

BTW you can flood the engine or blow the seals on a 2006 just like you can on a TSB'ed 2004.

exactly, my 04 has been running strong for 32,000 miles. I change the oil regularly along with other maintance, keep the car looking nice, and i am up to date with the updates.

I would use the DSC as yoiur trigger for your dad. That's a BIGTIME safety thing. Tell him you jsut found otu that other car has it, and that is why you spun out in yoru current car the last time it rained. Go out for a Test Drive when it's raining and say you felt much more safe and comfortable abotu the car.

Thing is with the value, is that the Auto loses it's value faster then the stick, it's supply and demand, and Few want the Auto. The '05-'06 swap the dealer proposed is very fair. Of course there is a difference between Wholesale and Retail, and that is usually more then the 1 yer in model year, especially when considering that the one they are selling is better equipped(DSC, HID's, stick...).

'Ton's' is just so that I don't have to go into explaining about the 'TSB's'. Its a bother to have to go to the dealer all the time or sorry once in a while... And I've never flooded or burnt my engine out. And I've done quick starts like moving from the road to my garage.
