Yes, that has happened to me as well. That is why I now must open and close the suicide doors for them.

No one opens my suicide doors except me. No one.

The kids know to wait, in or out. :D

when i tell people it's rotary, they think it's cool but if it gets bad who'd fix it since most mechanics do cylinders and pistons? Mazda will for free during warranty but after warranty is over, cost of fixing may be high.

I used to show off my Freestyle Doors every chance I got.

The wierdest comment I got was from a guy who had a 350Z Roadster asking me if it was a Viper with a Backseat.

Others were just complementary on the whole car.

well in my case Mazda was useless, their service its garbage, but i got somebody thats the man with rotary arround me he is like the god and loves the Rx8 so i care less about the warranty at this point. he squeezed over 600 hp on a yellow RX8 he had. makes tears come out my eyes.....

Shinka 213...your pic looks very familiar....I have seen it before...although I was casting a shadow on my 8 as I stood in front of the State Troopers car! haha

When I am home, my 4yr old son goes almost everywhere with me. I love letting him out of the back and watching the peoples reaction when the figure out why I am walking around to the passenger side of the car.

not yet! I always have the rear-seaters get in first and close their doors. Probably the time it would be most likely to happen is when everyone's getting out. But I'm usually hovering around like a mother hen.

I think the idea might have even pre-dated the Saturn on some extend cab pickups?

But, maybe it doesn't count, because it's a truck...

As an owner who hardly ever has a car beside me (park my car FAR FAR away from others) this is definitely not a problem.:D

I registered my car as a 4 door sedan :D .

The DMV guy couldn't find rotary engine in the system. It took him forever and finally entered 0 cylinders after I showed him the RX8 brochure that states "no cylinders, no pistons, no valves, no equals". feels good to be special like that
