Yup. I am never buying a VW/Audi product again.
2 out of 3 ended up in a buyback. They are that bad.

Too bad, because they really do have some interesting products and designs.
Yeah like the R32! I was looking at one of these before the RX-8 was coming out. All wheel drive, 240hp VR6 6-speed tranny!

But Alas no more VAG products for me!

I've had mine in the shop just 3 times (break-in oil change, 5k service, airbag recall). Never flooded, not a single problem.

Well, that's not true, I've developed a permanent smile

Hey Q121825, same here! Three dealer visits - break-in oil change, 5k service, and airbag recall. No floods, not a single problem. Oh yeah, I went to the dealer to pick up my rotary accents. And then there is the silly grin issue.

Just remember, people normally only post when they have a problem. You don't get to many "I drove my car to work today and like every other day I didn't have any problems".

I've got 8,000+ miles on my car (since Dec. 13th) and I haven't had a single problem other than a rattle in my door and the dealer fixed the rattle.

Think about how many "problems" you read about then compare that to the number of RX-8's on the road. Now compare that to any other car. Do you really think the RX-8 has more problems than any other car on the road?

Just my $.02
Last week I went to the dealership for the airbag recall and 6,000 mile service, and asked them about the ecu reflash. The service tech asked me if I had any problems with the car, and I replied "no..." He said it's probably a good idea to not fix something that isn't broken, so we decided not to have the reflash done. My 8 was manufactured in August, so I have whatever fixes were current until then.

BTW I drove my car to work today and like every other day I didn't have any problems. I even drove it home from work and still didn't have any problems.
