Yeah it was. The dealership had installed it incorrectly. They had to order a new set and basically mounted them. I have to complete the installation as the double tape wasn't removed. Waiting for warmer weather to do it along with my other accessories when they come in.

nice car

I can't believe the strakes though...can the dealer do anything right on this car from breaking dampers to putting the strakes on wrong.

Who did your xpel?

Oh the strakes were replaced. But I asked them to only mount it with the screw and not take the tape off. I'll finish installing them myself once I get the rest of my accessories.

I got my xpel kit it done by Steve Whitney whos in Cherry Hill aka Automotive Film Technologies. He was cheaper than Glass Tint Specialists in Maple Shade, though he did say after he did my install he might charge a bit more. Did it for me within a day on a weekend.

isn't it true that you should not wash a wax the car within the first month or so... because it might ruin the finish? i might be mistaken.

your mistaken, the best thing to do is clay your car right after u get it because of the iron dust that kicks up from the rail system they use to build/transport the cars.

Well I finally installed the Leather Gear Shift **** and the Aluminum Accelerator Pedal/Brake Pedal/Foot Rest. The **** was a piece of cake. The footrest was the easiest of the three. Brake pedal was tough initially but after screwing around with the rubber and a flathead I finally figured out how to get the rubber around the pedal. The accelerator pedal was pain!!! Took me a while to unscrew the top nut and putting it back was a pain too!! But got that done too! Phew! I screwed up my cargo net install because one of the lower screw's rubber got all destroyed because I was trying to follow 'Mazda's Instructions'!!!! Please make sure you read what other forum members did before you attempt to install it!!! Use the tap in method from the following link. I got one of the screws easily in with this method. But the other's rubber was destroyed with my previous efforts that it became pointless after spending 20 minutes on it using all different kinds of methods I could think of! https://www.rx8club.com/showthread.p...ight=cargo+net

I'm so pissed but atleast there is another solution. https://www.rx8club.com/showthread.p...ight=cargo+net Though I'm not sure if I want to install it now considering that my golf bag might catch onto it everytime I move it in and out of the trunk.

Well, onto the aluminum door sill plates, fender strakes, front splash guards and rear door trim protectors. I'm going to get the MP3 player installed by a Mazda dealer since I want it covered throughout the car's warranty and not just 12 months/12,000 miles.

Finally got my lazy butt off the couch and installed a couple of the accessories I purchased. Installed the Aluminum Door Sill Trim Plates & Rear Door Trim Protectors. Next weekend its the turn of the front mud guards, clear side markers and bulbs. And all this just to prep up for Dragon Tail! :D

I've never got over 18.4 miles per gallon.

Maybe I'm lucky and got one of those enginges with lots of HP.

25 miles to work and not greater than 75 mph. Mileage still sucks.

Well, first of all I've got an AT (I noticed 310Guy has one too but wasn't sure if Razz1 has one). Secondly, I drive 85 miles a day back and forth from work and I always try to keep it on cruise around 70-75 mph. This is also inspite of the fact that on hot days I use the A/C. I don't know what else there could be, except it could be the long distances I drive and cruising.
