Sirius factory sat radio... antenna issue

Hi folks,
Been a while since I last posted - life has been nuts. I recently discovered that my factory installed Sirius Sat radio is out, because my antenna (mounted on trunk lid) has the cable wire going along the trunk hinges on the left side, and with all the open/close action over the years the cable is snapped... now I'm no electronics genius but if the dealer re-mounts it again in that spot it's only a matter of time before it's dead again.

Anyone have any better ideas as to where to mount that? Also - it's double-sided taped... so I imagine my paint will be a little screwed up now, once they rip the old antenna off?

I am going Tuesday to get it replaced - so ideas would be most welcome.

Cheers.

I had mine mounted in the middle of the rear deck, just inside the glass. No issues with cable breakage, and no weather related issues either. The dealer mounted it there for me when I had it installed in July, 2005.

I mounted my XM Antenna on the rear window with the double sided tape. No issues to date.
