Small Crack...

yesterday I noticed a small chip in my windshield. I have my 8 for nearly 4 months and this is the first thing that has been a problem for me. I noticed the chip on the passenger side about eye level and planned on checking with a local shop to see if it could be repaired. this morning on my way to work I noticed two lines forming from each side of the chip no bigger than 1/8" across. I guess my question is to see if anyone has had something like this repaired or had their windshield replaced and if so what was the cost? I'm taking it in tomorrow and can only hope for the best!

Call your insurance company - they may fix it for free if it doesn't get any bigger

Most insurance companies waive the deductible if you have it repaired rather than replaced. Not all chips can be repaired but this one sounds like one that can be fixed. Chances are it won't be perfect, there will still be a small dot you will see.

Also, I'd get it fixed ASAP. The longer you wait, the bigger a chance you'll have of it suddenly getting a whole lot bigger. If it's too big, they can't fix it. Plus, it is good to keep the glass you have on your car from the factory...I've heard it actually adds to the structural rigidity of the car.
