Smashed Up Shinka
I suppose everybody has a tale of woe at some point. I was tooling down the highway in my baby when some MF in a jacked F150 decided he wanted to make right turn from the left lane. I already had dibs as I was in the right lane preparing to turn right.
By the way, it's $3200 in damage
How many other 8's have been crashed?

Gosh, sorry buddy....dang nabbit %&#$()*!
At least the damage does not look too bad so your 8 should be left with no ill effect. I would make sure once they fix everything that there are no vibration or alignment issues.
Mainly, it just looks superficial.
How did the guy/gal respond? What did they say? If they admitted they were in the wrong and apologized, well that’s all you could expect. None of us are immune to acts of stupidity…while some people do seem to need a booster shot of common sense.
I’ve learned in my short life…there is nothing common about “common sense”.

Two new cars hurting each other....you see ladies, these are the type of things that make guys emotional....sorry, I have to stop...I'm about to...
lol, sorry again and I hope you get your 8 fixed ASAP!!!
At least he felt bad about it...but I hope he felt bad about doing that to your car and less about what he did to his own.

Went into the shop today. I should have it back Thursday or Firday. I have my fingers crossed for the color match. All the parts are new. OEM fender, OEM HID light and OEM bumper cover.
The tires are Wintersport M3 in ASA JH8 18 rims. But I suppose you could go off road in them.

Well, one good thing is that your car IS new. As long as they use good color matching, the new paint will wear about as much as the rest of the paint on your car. Sorry to hear about that though. Hope you get your car back soon, and it looks good.
Like an F150 needs to be higher than it is already? I don't understand jacked up trucks. It's an excuse to run you over and say that they honestly didn't see you. Well duh!

The paint code is on the label on the driver's doorjamb. As someone else said, Black Cherry is 28W.
That code allowed my paint guy to mix a batch of black cherry.. it is more of a witches' brew than I'd thought.. it has black, gold, red, violet, and mica flakes. Perfect match, both in color and flake consistency.

They had it in the shop for 3 days. Mine was driveable. I ordered the parts and waited until they cam in. I can only imagine the horror of not being able to drive it for 6 weeks. # days was hard to take.

i wonder how well body shops will be able to blend the paint color of the shinka- since it's not a typical color... also, don't forget to put fabric softener sheets all around under the seats in the cabin. otherwise, when u get the car back from the body shop it smells like paint fumes for months...

The body shop I used at Vincent Mazda in Rochester, NY did a final interior and exterior detailing after the $10,000 of body work to repair my deer damage. I had asked about the interior specifically because the residual smell from the airbag propellant was really pungent and nasty. They assured me they'd get that out.
I didn't have paint or propellant fumes in the car at all after I got it back.
However, they had it the 6 weeks from mid-Nov (and 66F weather) to almost Christmas. It went into the shop wearing the summer slicks and I had to haul the winter tires up there (2 hours away #$^&$%) to get it home safely. Soooo, I had to bring home the summer tires in the RX-8 and the car smelled slightly of tires for a couple of days.
