smells like acid/strong odor
Hi guys,
I haven't been here in a while (I forgot my username)... LOL.
Basically I have an 06 RX8
Recently, I've been driving my car a little more aggressively, redlining once every few days.
I've noticed that when I park my car at night, or at work, and when I return after work, or in the morning, the interior of the car smells like ***. (It smells like acid - a very strong smell). Once I start the car and turn on the fan, the smell goes away. The same thing has happened in the last few days. The milage is about 15000 (don't drive much - I have another car), and its mostly been babied until now.
Thanks for any advice on what to do.

Are there lots of bugs on the front of your car? I just drove my car through the middle of south dakota and it smelt like *** whenever i had the fan/ac on until i got the bugs out of the vents/radiator.

Hey guys,
Funny that you asked - I just had the battery changed about 1 week ago to a new one...
Also, no, I don't drive anywhere with lots of insects.
The thing is, the car smells bad, when I enter it (Before the engine starts). Once I turn on the fan, the new air dissipates the smell.
I don't know what to do.
It may not be an "acid" smell, it just smells like burning clutch sort of (only that the smell stays in the car overnight, after I turned engine off).
Thanks for any suggestions.
God bless.

LOL. It was actually something in the trunk.
I had a bottle of chemicals and it was leaking into the plastic bag that I put it in. I can't believe the smell went all the way into the inside of the cabin. Needless to say - I got rid of the source of smell, and aired out the windows.
Thanks for the joke which actually turned out to be the real truth.
