Smells too good to be true ... probably a scam

The Ipod photo looks pretty famaliar too.. Did I see it here on this site?

http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.jsp?car_id=190233630

Hello Robert ,

I received your email regarding my car .Right now I am located in London/UK and from here I will make the shipping . The car is in perfect condition,no dammage, the engine runs like new.
The price for the car with shipping included, is $6.000 US. Shipping will be done via Air Cargo and the car will arrive at your door in 6-7 days.I am selling my car at this price because I need the money ,and I thought that I would sell it faster at a lower price. Beside that it is a US registered car, with US specs and I cannot register it here and it just makes me pay a lot of import and parking taxes without being able to drive it
Also, I have to let you know that I want a safe-deposit of 2.500$ priorr shipping since I will shipp it in the same day or next day the payment is completed .
From the beginning you have to know that for the payment I request ONLY secure pay,I prefer the payment to be hold by a third party and only after you receive the product the payment has to be released to me. If you accept this terms and you have the money for this deal please provide me your personal details(full name, full address, phone) for the shipping so we can proceed with it.

Regards!

If i had 15 bucks to blow I'd run the fin and see if it was registered to an Adam Sanderson (thats the name on the email I got)

if its not a Scam.. BACK OFF cuss its MINE

DUDE!!!!

It is a scam big time. I saw and answered two similar AD's on yahoo auto. Except it was for a WRX. And they both said the guy was from the UK. I can forsee a huge trend with these kind of false advertisement. And well at first I was very excited to see such cars to be sold at such a low price. But after seeing these repeated AD's I started to get depressed again. If only I can get free title checks .

The car is located in Beverly Hills? I don't know how far away you are, but either check it out or have someone else look at it for you.

Don't get your hopes up. My guess is the car will be unavailable for viewing.

SCAM.

I read the ad. The guy said he's in the UK but the car is in the US. Ask him where exactly the car is located. Don't tell him where you are first, because I'm sure he'd pick a place far away from you.

It's a waste of time though. You'll never see the car.

Sorry to sound harsh, but anyone who would fall for this obvious scam nearly deserves it.

(I said "nearly").

This type of thing is financial Darwinism in operation. Those with low IQs will be parted from their savings.

LOL!! You would think the person would be smart enough if their going to try and pull a scam to ask atleast 15k. Makes me laugh thinking if there was someone dumb enough to pay up.

That is definately a scam, if someone wanted to unload a car fast they would just take it down to carmax and get $18,000 for it. You will see more of this type of crap come up since someone is going to buy all of the cars that sustained damage in the Hurricane for salvage and try and pawn them off on people.

Tell him that you need for him to take a picture of himself for visual authentication. And that he must hold a sign that says "Rx8 Club Ownz U!"

He's not trying to get the full $6K. He's only looking for someone dumb enough to give him the $2500 down payment. He is saying $6K because it should increase his chances of actually getting it. At $15K he wouldn't have nearly the interest.

If you want to know if this is legit(LOL), all you need to do, is tell him you need him to take a picture of the VIN number of the car(from the outside, with today's copy of the wall st. journal inside the car laying on the dashboard next to it.

I didn't see the part about the $2500, thanks for pointing that out. :p
