smooth ride - base vs gt rx8

Don't recall if the touring is same as gt model so far as tires and suspension goes but sure the sport (base) model has the smaller wheels. Know (think) the gt larger wheels provide for more grip when driving though wondered if a base (16" wheels?) provides for a much smoother ride around town?

We have great roads (seem good to me) in florida so mostly my gt feels like its on glass but one does feel the ripples over other pavement.

If anyone has had both models did you find a night/day change from one to the other. It is a sports car so I understand you give up some ride comfort going from a base model for the gt features just did not know how much.

Touring level w/18's here.

You won't notice any appreciable difference in "comfort" between 16's & 18's. The 18's will handle better and you'll be less likely to break traction on wet roads with them, assuming the same tread. Stick with the 18's. Also a little more ground clearance doesn't hurt.

Believe it or not, the 16" rims are more expensive than the 18" rims. The 16" are about $560 each, while the 18" are $500 each. I never understood why, b/c the 16" look ridiculous and are smaller.....

I know this doesn't relate to anything, just a bit of info I think some might find interesting

The 16" rims are manufactured in smaller numbers than the 18". Economy of scale.
