And so it has happened....
....after joining this forum over 16 months ago I'M FINALLY AN OWNER!!! *w00t*
All the waiting and careful shopping has paid off, I saw a sale price this past weekend I just couldn't say no to!
Specs:
New 2005 6MT
Titanium Gray
Grand Touring Package
6-disc CD changer
Spoiler
Financials:
MSRP - $32,540
Sale Price - $24,499
MAC discount - $1,000
Final price - $23,499 (+TT&L)
On top of that, I'll be refinancing later for 4.74%. Not bad for a first time car buyer eh?
Nothing smells better than a brand new RX-8 on a frosty morning!

Must be going through PTCU (whatever they call themselves now).
That's who I am going through. They have 4.74% up to 84 months.
They told me to qualify for that rate you have to have had a clean credit history (no late payments or missed payments) for the last five years and a minimum credit score of 730.

Wow.
I thought I got a good deal on my 6MT Sport.
You got the best deal I've ever seen.
Make sure the dealer doesn't try to screw you somehow, because you're 9k below MSRP, which is really hard to believe.
Congrats.

9k below MSRP true, but keep in mind 2005's are effectively now leftovers because of the delayed 2006 thing. Since Mazda is doing a 2,500 cash incentive right off the bat, definitely believable. One HELL of a deal though man.
I woulda wanted the GT package, but still nice man!

Scores up to 782? I think I finally met someone with better credit than me!

If you have a Providian card you can get your credit score online for free from the credit bureau that gives the lowest scores. I check that to gauge whether or not I can qualify for something. I know the one that is nicknamed a "Beacon Score" which is supposedly the one they check for auto loans (my step brother used to sell cars for Premier) is always my highest one. Yeah!!!! That's good news for me.
P.S. My credit would be a lot worse if my medical bills were included in my credit report. But, as far as anyone can tell, they don't exist!!!! More good news for me.

I pre-ordered in January 2003, and got the car in July under the impression they would be like 1st gen RX-7s, Miatas and even 350 Zcars. That is that there would be very few on dealer's lots for the first 6-9 months.
Big mistake, by September you could walk in and buy an RX-8 off the lot for a substantial discount off of stricker.
Ultimately I got about $2,000 back in the buyback/settlement offer because of the 247 HP, which at least covered the ADP I paid.

He used to work at one of their dealerships in Beaverton. Not sure which one, though. It's a good thing he doesn't anymore, though. My stepdad went through four trucks in about 18 months!!!!!
He bought a Chevy Silverado, hated it, had all kinds of problems with it, got rid of it within two months. Then bought a Lincoln Blackwood. Had that one for about six months until he got laid off and it was a huge expense to be paying on a $68K truck on unemployment. He sold that off and bought a one-year-old used Ford F150 wholesale. Well, a few months later he comes home and says "Well, I bought a new truck." (By this time my mom and I are in that "so what else is new" mode, since that seemed to be what he did for a hobby was go vehicle shopping). Exactly identical to the used truck he bought except that this one was a new one. We wouldn't have noticed until the payments for the new one came!!!
Thank goodness he moved to another state and stopped selling cars or my stepdad would probably still be rotating vehicles every few months!!!!!
I'm getting my car at Ron Tonkin since that was my closest option for a Costco-authorized dealer.
