I was going up 75 following a jetta, which obviously sitts higher than my car, and he just stradles this HUGE piece of retread. I swear it was the whole thing. Since he really did not swing out of the way i really had no idea it was coming untill it passed under his car and was right in front of mine. So it was either stradle it too or swing into the other lane possibly hitting another car. So after i stradled it i turned down the radio and did not hear anything and thought maybe i got away with it damage free. After another min i started hearing a flapping noise getting louder and louder So i slowed down and limped to the next exit and took a look at the damage. The front lip is smashed on the passengers side and dragging on the ground, the front bumper has a lot of rubber trasnfer, and the inner passenger fender has also come undone as well as the undertray just behind the front bumper. So i called the insurance company and gonna take it to the shop next week. I had to call buddy of mine to come who was working in the area and we used some bungie cord to hold the lip up lol.

Dont feel bad about the bungie cord I have duck tape holding up my head lights front behind!

its funny with the bungie holding it up, it is not that noticable. The gaurd on the bottom that is hanging down like a splitter is more noticable.

I ripped off the entire bottom of my car once..... like, EVERYTHING came off.... the pics to my stupid accident is in here in this forum somewhere....

yeah those tire (& other debris) dodging games suck.

 

i think its fun when im attentive! the 8 is so nimble. i always get a smile and think of the fast and the furious parody scene in cars.

 

damn... that sucks! see if you can get an upgraded bumper like a mazda speed or something.
