So, what do I do?
Well, my beatiful RX8 is not working--and no one is offering any way to fix it. Has anyone had any experience with Mazda buying back the Automatic RX8s? I am talking with Mazda on Monday, any suggestions on how to handle the situation?
Thanks.
Thanks.

I bought the car in October 2005. The main problem is that it will randomly die, hesitate to speed up, etc. The dealer has told me they don't know what the problem is, but that the rotary engine is bad and they have replaced several but have still had problems. Another mechanic, told me, he heard the compression was bad. The dealer told me to get rid of it and expect all this to happen again. It's been in the shop 5 times since October. I did review the manual and called Mazda, the man I spoke too said they would do nothing. So, I wrote a letter, stating that I would take legal action to get someone to help me. I got a call last week. They want all of my service documents and sales contracts. I am faxing them on Monday. So, that's where I am. Thanks in advance for the advice.

That sucks. They better do something, becasue what they told you is a load of B.S.
I haven't had any major issues with mine, and I have 27k on mine. The only thing is the flooding issue. Which I had, but got it running with some effort. I took it in just to be careful, and they replaced spark plugs, battery, and starter...all free. no questions asked.
The rotary isn't that bad. Sometimes, Ithink it's just the mechanics that work on them. That's why I do all mys services myself.

i like how some dealers act like ******** to rx8 owners this day in age. most customers will just check the internet first thing first to research a problem and will even prepare others for rotten service at a dealership. to say you want fix a dying car under warranty means you're lookin for the customer to either back down or for a confrontation in the long run.
good luck for the car, i hope that everything works out for you in the end. plus post up the results please.

u need to first read the lemon law statute for ur state and then follow the provisions- meaning, if ur' having problems w/ the car, then keep bringing it back into the dealer til the problem is completely fixed. there's usually a stipulation of the # of days the car is in the shop a month or something for it to qualify as being a lemon.
if u give up and just start looking at other options without following the provisions of the lemon law, then u will give the dealer or mazda a way to weasel their way out of buying it back. so, u need to get a solid position first- even if it means the inconvenience of being without ur car while it's at the dealer.
my uncle bought a chrysler pt cruiser and it turned out to be a lemon. and, he followed the lemon law provisions for the state of california to a tee. and, when all the provisions were finally met, he made chrysler buy it back. and, they did. they have to, or u can sue them to make them buy it back under the law.
sorry this happened to u. and, hope this helps.
