If you are planning on racing it I would go with the Subie. They are way more mod friendly. You can can squeeze a lot more HP out of a WRX with fairly simple mods than with the RX8. Intake, exhaust and an accessport do wonders for these cars. They are ugly, but you can coax a lot of power out of them. But on the other hand they do not handle as well as the RX8.
