Solutions to weak high beam?
After 4 months and 10000 km I have only one major complaint about this car, the unacceptably weak high beam.
A search of this site hasn't helped.
I suspect that the only solution is an additional set of lights, perhaps replacing the unnecessary foglights.
Any ideas would be appreciated.

in my opinion the high beams are great for this car, though i rarely have to depended on them, maybe you should replace the stock bulbs with a better/brighter sylvania version.

The low beam is great but I live in the country and the high beam is not good enough. I would have to rate the high beam as the worst I have had in 20 years.
I am due for a 10000km service next week. I am looking for ideas first.

I don't use the brights that much.
I have a 04 GT, with HID lights.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but it "appears" that the high beams are not HID.
Is that correct?
If that's not the case, it sure looks that way.
BTW I love the HID lights.
It's almost like the "Reveal" bulbs from GE.
"full spectrum" lighting!

Do you think somebody could have put in inferior bulbs before you purchased the car? Did you buy it used? If so I would say somebody put in very cheap bulbs or under-powered bulbs.

I have to agree that this are some of the best and brightest lights I've had on a car. I have the xenon hid's and I drive down the dark country roads with no problem. Have I been used to the regular headlights and now I'm spoiled? I love driving at night just because the HID's create a different driving experience.

That's one of my favorite "little things." I suspect it's not unique to the RX-8, since HIDs have a startup process and you don't really want to be flipping them on and off more than necessary.

High beams suck here too, but I barely use them. The HID low beams are good enough at night it seems. I'll probably replace them with higher quality bulbs sooner or later.

i have 04 GT, the high beam its pretty bright IMO. much brighter than other cars high beam.
but you have to admit that 350z BI-xenon is intense. HID HI-beam its nice and bright. i wish we have bi-xenons.
