i was working inside my brother restaurant when a couple of lady came in and to;d us a black car has been hit. I look outside and figure wow my car is the only black car out there. So i walk out and finding my car in the middle of the parking lot. My whole front bumper is like smash in. I cant beleive someone can hit apark that car bad. IT appear she park in front of my carand didnt step on the brake to stop the car but hit the gas then BAM, hit my car. Since we are nice we told her we wont bring to the insurrance, just make her pay for the damage. i was thinking make her pay for a new mazdaspeed bumper..but that too much eheh just my 2 cent. Any idea how much it will cost?

 

What's the big deal? Unless she's been in a bunch of accidents her insurnace probably wont' take a big hit.

It'll probably cost her a lot, especially if theres metal work. Everything's got to be painted that's fixed/replaced, that gets costly too.

And if you claim it on her insurance you'll get a rental while it's in the shop. Unless you ask for that money you're out of a ride for a bit.

If the body shop gets in there and finds more damage prices can go up, and you may have trouble getting it from the woman.

Good luck with this one, I'm very leary of this type of transaction. You have to be really trusting or you could end up out a lot of money.

 

Go insurance route! Can run in excess of 5K easily if headlights were damaged. And as stated rental car and some insurance companies guarantee the work. That important if you have future problems and the dealer won't cover them warranty because of the accident. That's what I did when my 8 was damaged and since you were not at fault no increase in you premiums

 

Agreed. Insurance ONLY. I let someone talk me into staying out of insurance recovery once when I was young and stupid, and I'll never do it again. I gave up trying to recover from him when he started acting like I was the bad guy and that he somehow had right-of-way coming out of his alley onto the 6-lane major thoroughfare I was driving on.

Now I'm just old and stupid, but much wiser. That's what insurance is for--not to play games to avoid using it, but to pay for things like this. Don't ever trust someone under these circumstances, even if it seems that they have the best intentions starting out. Money does funny things to people, including making them lose all integrity.
