That's OK. I wasn't asking you to give your blessing to my car care regimen. I've 72K miles on the thing, and it is still doing OK, but I am interested to see the carbon.

Yeah you may not have read it but I met with a group of locals(1 maryland owner) on a friday night meet. We had the prototype 09' rx8 from mazda there and I also convinced the plant boss to let me take the rotary builders from japan who trained us to come out and meet some owners. It was brief but one of them spoke fluent japanese to assist them and they signed one guys engine cover. So up in maryland there is one and only one person in the US who has his engine cover signed by the "master" masa who has been building rotaries in japan for 35 years+ and his coworker who has done it 15 years.

BTW came to work to find a beautiful gift today, a sign up sheet was sitting there, apparently Mazda wants us to use a brand new 09 RX8(base model) to do a mileage and overall tests on. Basically whenever to start it and shut it off we have to log where it is and it ends up each time(ie went to store, went home(mileage)) They have some computer linked into it to monitor it. Basically they said you want it sign in when you want it and its yours. I have a vacation in a few weeks, I will pile 800 miles on it instead of my car. They haven't said how long we will have it but I will try to see when meets/drives take place and I may pop in on one with it. The Z club here is pretty boring and I need a decent drive or something so I figure I will crash a meet out this way. I cant afford to go too far right now, just moved/wife is in med school so I pay the bills for now. If something goes down towards hampton/richmond I may be down but thats about it, I still am a little active with my Z club though.

Here is the pic with the richmond rotary owners from that friday night(yeah my Z is in the pic next to the prototype rx8). Also in the pic is Masa(2nd to the lower left and "yoshii"(back right with the thumb up).

Awesome.

sleepy, you are an attribute to Z owners, Mazda, the RX8 Club, and car owners everywhere.

Thanks for sharing your pics and knowledge with us. It has added a ton.

That is nice Z, too. I always loved that body style.
