Angry somebody dented my Shinka 8!

Just noticed it now as I was leaving work. F@#king SUVs... I only have 2034 miles on it and its already dented. Fu#king Florida drivers! I swear cars here needed those black rubber bumper strips they just don't frigging care!

The picture does not show the dent but I finger marked it. Can't get the right angle due to flash.

Anyway, take a deep breath (WOOOSAH...WOOOSAH).

I need to know of any good dent specialist here in south florida. Anybody knows one???

The 8 seems to dent amazingly easily. I have one door ding on each front door, courtesy of moi. Washing it. Lightly bumped it with the brush's hard part.

Here in S. FL? There's a Dent Wizard, look him up via yellowpages.com or dentwizard's corporate site.. I'd take the miata there every couple of years to have 'em massage out all the S. Fl-induced scars. Always did a great job for a reasonable price.

Sorry, cleoent. It is currently raining "cats and dogs" here in SoFla for the past week. Believe me this baby gets a wash every week sometimes more. The dirt you see is 2 days old.

Dude you got a Shinka too? Man I feel bad for you too. These stinking SoFla drivers are for the birds. I'm seriously thinking about buying a magnet-backed rubber strip and wrap it around the side of the car when I park. Does anybody know where I can get one and If nobody makes them can anybody in this forum make it? (hey, what a great business idea!)

Thanks for the dentwizard tip. I'll look it up.

Seen those at sites like autopia and autogeek. I'd buy them if I thought that they'd work but it would just call attention to the fact that you don't want your car dinged and some idiot would go out of their way to smack you. Or, someone would take a liking to them and walk off with them.

Yea, I got a shinka.

I rarely pick up parking lot dents. I just park out where folks don't park because they're lazy -- I use that against 'em. Let 'em all bunch up close to the entrance.. I don't mind a short walk to ensure my sled's (relative) safety.

Far worse than how they park is how they drive. I'm used to it, but it's frightening, really.

Worst place for a sports car. I shoulda bought a '72 Buick Electra with concrete-filled bumpers :D

Unfortunately I don't have the same option when I'm at work. The parking lot is always full and there are a lot of transient parkers. I guess I'll take my Harley instead. :D

Mazda need to use body material that is less prone to denting. I had a Toyota 4runner and that thing is built like a tank, same with Mercedes Benz I sideswipe another Benz while backing up and all it took was to use a buffing compound, no dent at all.

I guess lightness of the car means thinner body panels.

From: Anaheim.. I think.
About two weeks ago some old fart parked his 92 Ford F250 on top of my front hood in front of HomeDepot. I should of left the car where it was, or took a picture of it before I moved it. All I could think about was having a look to see if my Shinka was damaged. After I moved my Shinka back..there were noticeable scratches on the front of my hood. I waited for the owner to come out, and when he did, he completely denied it.. He didn't even look to see if there was damage. That old b*****d made me so angry. Worst thing about it... was when the cops arrived they said they couldn't do a police report becuse it occurred on private property (Home Depot)...in addition, w/o eye wittnesses, it was my word against his. It sucks...

Now that bites! That's why you have to park waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay far away, so that no one wants to park anywhere near you. Particularly at a Home Depot or Lowes; where everyone has a truck and has to be as close to the front doors as possible. Think about it this way, the walk to and from will do you and your Shinka good

I think that's BS on their part. Even on private property if you request a police report the cops are supposed to give you one. Only difference between private and public property is that they are legally required if its public and optional if its not. What happen if somebody ran over the curb and hit your car parked in the driveway? Should they deny a report on that too?

With the above second Shinka accident, the police don't have to file a report. Each involved party would file a report and that would be the gist of the police report. But the police aren't going to assign contributing circumstances or issue a ticket over the matter; vehicles were moved, no witnesses, he said she said, and minimal property damage. Although, one could make a case for the mental anguish involved in seeing a Shinka's hood scratched.

The only time they will issue a citation or actually do something in a parking lot (Private Property) is if the owner or manager of the company complains or sides with a side. I had a friend get a ticket for Wreckless driving in a parking lot because the manager had complained. He was ONLY in the parking lot and didn't venture onto the street.

This is also why if you were to back into the building or damage "their" property you can be sure you will get a ticket or at the very least be held responsible.
