Something about the 8
Well, last week my engine detonated on my 94 White FD. I recentley sold it and now I'm taking my brothers Rx-8. There is something about it, that I just am not sure of... But I dont think the Rx-8 flows nearly as well as the FD is. Now obviously I'm taking it, its a new car, has a warranty, afew other goodies, I'd never not drive such an awsome machine. But side by side, there is no comparison in regards to beauty.
The 8 is definatley more reliable, so the "logical" me knows what is right. But deep down, I will always yern for that 500 hp monstor that walks on everything and makes people break their necks to watch it drive by.

Some day, I plan to turbo this car. Once greddy gets all the kinks straightened out with their piggy back system.

When i saw the topic, I was thinking it was going to be something odd about the car.
But after driving various cars, the more I love the rotary. Smoothness of the rotary engine that nothing else can compare.

I think the 8 just needs a little go. Once I get a turbo on this bad boy, even at very moderate boost lvls IE stock map settings I think I will be much more pleased.
Something about feeling a turbo spool up as your accelerating just feels so good.

I sold my FD because after dumping $16k on it in a year (mods and maint.) I got tired of it and I needed new turbos or upgrade it. That was another $6k that I just couldn't dealt with, so I sold it. But if you really, really pay attention and get in touch with the 8, there are alot of similarities that will bring the FD back, that is if you own your FD while it was complety stock and it was in great shape when you got it. Look for my user name (same as here) and you will see it.

hondasr4kids, so you sold it afterall? That's ok, I decided to pay-off my rx-8 loan and lick my resultingly wounded m.mkt. acct. for a while. That'll give mazda some year or two to announce a real rx-7 type car. If they don't i might just find an FD worth owning if there still are any.
So, you bought an 8 too. kewl. you still in beaufort?
Spoolage, that FD was really nice! The 8 is still so new, but the stuff is getting there and it's kind of hard figuring out the good stuff from the not so good. Get in line (proverbially speaking, that is) for a Hymee supercharger - he should have it ready to sell by end of winter.

don't bother with the greddy kit. aftermarket is in full swing now and in less than a year, you'll see much better turbo's and the first superchargers hitting the market.. and then you might be able to get that 500hp monster back. especially considering the renesis breathes much better than any port job on a FD could ever dream of aspiring to have.
