Something wrong with my friend's RX8?
My friend got his car last week and I test drove it at around 70 miles. The transmission was pretty smooth and sleek. The gas pedal and brake are too close, but I'm aware of that seeing that appear in the forums many years back.
However, today, which is one week later, I find the the transmission went from sleek to notchy. It requires super strength to shift from any gear to any other gear. It's as if the MT fluid just turned into tar. I had a HARD time driving his car anywhere.
After even 3 minutes, I got out of the car. It's not only the first and 2nd gear. All gears were hard to get into. It was too annoying. I couldn't even find reverse. I pushed down and went to the right as far as possible and got into 6th gear. Going from that to my GTI made it felt so much better.
His car is a 06 model.
So I'm wondering, how could one week of driving, barely 40 miles, have such a drastic effect on the shifting? I don't get it. There's only 100+ miles on the car!
(I shifted at only 3k rpms, super low) I didn't even go into 6th because I was afraid I would miss it.
