Speakers and tails
Hi.
Straight to the point.
Sounded like my driver side speaker was blown (had bit of rattles to do it)
I took it to mazda, they are replacing it under warranty. (It was blown)
then I saw condensation in my tails, I took it to them and show it to them.
they said they order new gasket for it? better seal? Is it how it is usaully? Not the whole new set? (when you have condensation in your tails?)
My rear passenger side speaker seems out...
Had anyone had problems with speakers in 8?
Mine is GT, Bose sound system.

Yup, you can blow speakers easily by just upping the Bass and playing them at the loadest volume you can. I have done it to previous cars. If you have the money a good upgrade will solve this. Not to mention the stock speakers aren't that great anyway.
As far as the Taillights, I think that the gasket is what they do first. Then if it comes back they will replace the assembly.

Thanks guys.
I understand speakers get blown if i maxed out my speakers or played loud music or set bass to the max. But I dont fit into any of those three categories.
I was wondering if people had problems with stock speakers like me.
not doing anything wrong, it just gave away... =/
Juice thanks about the tail info.

Mazda has a new TSB which calls for drying out the lights and replacing the gasket instead of replacing the entire light.

The stock speakers must blow easy, As i was getting in my car the day i bought it, leaving the dealership, I turned the volume not even half way up. Unless people that tested the car, also tested the speakers =(
It was obvious the passenger side front door speaker was blown, they said they will replace it no problem, but I'm just going to buy some infinity kappa perfects!

easy way to fix the tail light from condensation.
remove the tail lights
shake out as much water as you can from the light
use a heat gun to evaporate the rest of the water
drill a tiny hole on the bottom of the tail light on left and right side of the tail light
if anymore water gets into the tail light it will drip out from these 2 small holes, these holes also make it easier for the water inside to naturally evaporate. if the water is comming from the keyhole from the right tail light use a sealent. I had my tail lights filled 2 inches high with water after a bad storm mixed with hot and cold weather. after doing this i had no more problems. easy DIY

Mine isn't that much water... if like very light condensation that will not drip. It's just along the surface... I dont know how to explain but I know my problem won't drip out of holes, It will stay on surface of Inside of taillights.
Mine is still under warranty, They will replace the gasket, and we'll see how that works. I guess

hmm i havent gotten any bugs in there with these holes drilled. funny thing is, i had bugs in there when i DIDENT have holes.
does your warrenty cover the full price of parts or 50% of the cost? if you have any friends who work at shops a heat gun works wonders if u dont wanna spend money

My driver side speaker has been blown from the day i drove car home. (Bose) I have not gotten the nerve to let the dealer fix it. I had a headlight adjustment problem and talked to the " RX 8 " mech and he said he dont work on them much but he would try. I fixed it myself. Absolutly no confidence in Mazda service.
My $0.02 worth.
