Special Spark Plugs

After reading through this site, I learned that our cars need leading and trailing spark plugs. Now I want to know, does this mean that we cannot use other plugs besides the ones that Mazda offers as OEM? Can we not use the Bosch Platinums, or Iridiums, or Fusions or any other type of spark plug? Also, why are they, the OEM plugs, so expensive compared to the three dollar plugs I see at auto stores?

From what i have learned Oem plugs just run better by design than aftermarket and did an upgrade on mine the day i got the car it and it was running right but when i took it to the dealer to get it checked i got negative feedback about the plugs And how it runs better on the Oem equiptment. Not sure why this was according to all the other cars i have had upgrading helps performance but after talking to the dealer and swapping out for some oem it ran better something about the way they are designed like the whole "do not use synthetic oil thing. Im for what ever makes my car last longer 52K and still pushing
