turns out i was wrong
With a very sad heart and a rather red face i have to report that earlier this morning when i attempted another speed run (on the flat this time) it hit the limiter again at 187kph
It seems that it crept to 200 last time by pure luck probably because i was driving down hill and the force on the wheels and maybe the wind was just enough to drag the car to 200kph
Oh well never mind

Of course the qestion now is whether it also got tuned down to an EU-friendly-longer-cat-life of 238hp and i'm hoping Fabrice has an answer for that.
It does seem a little less quick but it could be all in my head, specially as one day it flys and one day it feels like its got a bit of the flu. In fact its more fickle than most women.

To the ppl that are the "why would you ever want to do more than the speed limit" ppl...........stfu. This thread is obviously not for you, nor do the participating members share you views on how fast to drive, or where to do it. It is not for you to judge, unless you are God and are making a visit to us humans posing as an annonomous RX-8 owner. If MintyFresh had wanted you to tell him he shouldnt be driving that fast, he would have asked Before he did it. Bugger Off, and go save some whales....

In a serious vein--I, too, do not feel confident enough in my driving skills to attempt to push my car to its limits. But with an open road in good condition, light traffic, silent fuzz-buster--125 is sheer joy. Limiting this car to 117 is ridiculous.
