Speed-Only!!! RX-8 VS GTI
hey people, I'm not trying to start a damn biased discussion, nor am I trying to diss the GTI, I don't want you to answer with stupid remarks or comments
and I personally careless whether our car is "4seater" "sports car" blah blah, shove all those up the A-hole, screw them all
comes down to this.........GTI VS an RX-8, speed only, minimal curves, etc etc,
which one is faster, all the way up to 120miles

Cuz theres alot more noobies joining us lately. who cares about TQ and HP more than driving skills and overall balance.
My friend brought a Rabbit 4-5 months ago, I test drove the GTI, it feels fine in straight line, the turbo I think it kicks in about 2900 rpm. but as soon as I hit the corner ....
I drove it back to the dealership. handed them back the keys, and got back into my 8 and zoom zoom.

depends on which year GTI and what he's got. Stock for stock, most GTI's can't keep up with an 8, even in a straight line, and forget curves. If it's a VR6 it might be close, but the still don't have the 8's handling prowless.
Minimal turns- doesn't sound like an race track I know of?

Why does everyone who starts an "RX8 VS xxx" thread begin the thread by saying, "I don't want to start a another RX8 vs xxx war"
Obviously you are!
so...

If thats a GTI 1.8t does 6.5 0-60 stock if mod you are wasting your time, he is going to eat you up if you don't have any mods done to your Rx-8, unless its a autoX race.
Straight line stock plain GTI its going to be close, if its a Stock GTI VR 32v or 1.8t its going eat your lunch.
Straight up, don't bet any titles or money over $20 bucks.

Thats not a true race as the rx8 went over the GTI's lane but nevertheless, the RX8 had the better launch. Im sure with same driver skills and perfect conditions, the GTI would either come close to the 8 or beat it. And why would you want to race the 8 DRAG style?

lol, this is a personal reason, I really appreciate the helps, but I need more feed back on this, please no BS or anything, as for a note, he kinda sucks at driving

Volkswagon bought Bugatti, thus the new GTI you will race probably has the quad-turbocharged and intercooled DOHC 64-valve W-16, aluminium block and heads, direct fuel injection engine. Its ok though, go look for the post which explains the reasons why the RX8 is better than the Veyron!
Good luck!

wow wow wow...i just read your sig...dont bother racing...dude, you have an AT...what the hell are you gunna do with it? Its hopeless...just tell him that you lost all your pistons and therefore cannot race...this is the only dignifying way out

why would racing even be in your head if you drive an auto?
Do you like seeing how fast you can go when their is liquid between your engine and wheels? Or was a direct connection just too much *umph* for you?
If it was a manual then it might come down too driver, but since it's an auto... And all you REALLY need is a brick too hold the pedal too the metal, than why not lose a couple of pounds and just jump out of your 8 if you begin to lose?
Seriously... With such little control you have over your 8, don't expect any control over any kind of race...
